Welcome to the first ever World Cup organised
by World Masters Hockey (WMH)

WMH has been endorsed by FIH as the recognised organisation for Masters Hockey.

Previously World Cups were organised by two separate organisations (International Hockey Masters Association and World Grand Masters Hockey) and WMH would like to thank everyone previously involved in organising these Events for laying such good foundations for us to build on.

The popularity of Masters Hockey continues to grow, and such is the interest in participating in a World Cup we have found it necessary to split the overall Event into four separate Tournaments.

These Tournaments will be held between August and November 2020 and to reflect the global nature of these they will be hosted on three different continents – Europe Africa and Asia.

On behalf of FIH and the Board of WMH I would like to welcome all those Nations competing in the four Tournaments (with a special welcome to Nations new to Masters Hockey), all officials, participants, and spectators to our Event and hope you all have a wonderful experience.

Finally, I would like to thank the three National Associations – England, South Africa and Japan and their Host organisations for agreeing to take on the hard work involved in organising such global Tournaments and wish them every success.

Regards

Welcome to Nottingham

Dear Friends of the Hockey Family,

We are delighted to be welcoming you to the Mens’ and Womens’ Over 35s and Over 40s Masters World Cups in the heart of England, Nottingham in August 2020.

It has been my absolute pleasure to have witnessed the growth of Masters’ Hockey over the past few years – not only in England but as a worldwide staple of our sport.

The tournament will take place at Nottingham Hockey Centre, the home of Beeston Hockey Club which I am proud to call the premier club facility in Great Britain, with four hockey pitches and a grandstand on the main pitch, the newly refurbished Stick & Pitcher Bar on the first floor and Cafeteria on the ground floor.

The Centre is within five minutes walking distance from the nearest tram stop which is straight into the centre of Nottingham. For the majority of you travelling from outside the UK, the Centre is just a twenty minute drive from East Midlands Airport and two hours from London.

We hope you will have a memorable time here.

David Griffiths

Chairman – Nottingham Hockey Centre

Welcome from England Hockey

I am delighted to have been given the responsibility of managing, what will be, the first WMH World Cup for 035/045 Women and Men; at the Nottingham Hockey Centre in August 2020.

England Hockey has a long, and successful, association with FIH in staging major events and I am confident this will be a tremendous advert for Masters’ hockey.

I look forward to welcoming players, official and spectators from all around the world to a first-class facility at Nottingham Hockey Centre and am confident we can offer you the very best hockey experience.

Regards
